Amid the increasing covid crisis Madhya Pradesh board of secondary education has postponed the practical and theory exams for classes 12. New dates will be declared later. The exams which were scheduled to begin on May 20 have been postponed for uncertain period.
The board had also said that it will reconsider holding class 10 exams and consider announcing results based on an alternative mode of assessment. The indication is clear that general promotion may be given to all 10th class students as it is done by CBSE. The final decision on the same is yet to be taken.
The MPBSE board exams 2021 final decision will impact over 16 lakh students. Each year around 16 lakh students appear for MPBSE class 10 and 12 exams. In 2020, about 8.5 lakh students appeared for MPBSE 12th and over 9 lakh had appeared for MPBSE 10th board exams.
The news can disappoint the students who were eagerly waiting for their exams. But seeing the present situation MPBSE has no alternative. Many other boards including CBSE has also taken the decision of postponing 12th exams and promoting 10th class students without any exam.
