Bhamashah scheme to be relaunched to honour honest tax payers

Bhopal: “Increase in revenue is necessary to bring the economy back on track. There should be an increase in this. Ministers should conduct review with departmental officers every week to improve the current status of generated revenue,” Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserted. He sought information about the generated revenue in a review meeting today. Under the circumstances of Covid-19, it is necessary to increase revenue in various heads with the aim of restoring the economy. For this, work should be done based on a strategy. CM directed that the Bhamashah scheme of honouring honest tax payers should be started again. It is also necessary to encourage people who pay taxes honestly. Last year, many taxpayers have been discouraged due to this scheme being ignored. Honouring taxpayers inspires all classes to pay their taxes. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this scheme should be effectively implemented from this year itself. There will be a meeting again after a fortnight to review the revenue generated in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought detailed information about the receipt of taxes related to the departments of commercial tax, excise, forest, mineral, energy, transport, stamp and registration etc. in the review meeting. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that legal action should be taken against tax evaders. He said that every effort should be made to collect revenue. Efforts should be made to regain the position of last year. If a Corona positive patient is found in any of the headquarters and field offices of government departments associated with revenue collection, then in this situation there is no need to close the entire office. One day the office should be closed and revenue collection activities should be continued with necessary sanitization and other protocols. The office work must continue in full capacity. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we have to live with Corona for the next few months. There is no justification in stopping economic activities. Efforts must be made to control irregularities while making old recoveries.
