Here is the end if all ifs and buts amid covid19, Common Admission Test or CAT 2020 exam notification was announced on July 29 along with the exam schedule. A candidate can register for CAT20 from August 5th to September 15th.
The CAT exam is conducted by one of the IIMs on rotational basis and is a gateway to India’s top institutes, the IIMs and over 1200 other business schools. About 2.4 lakh candidates register for CAT exam every year. In CAT20 it can show an unexpected hike as tgis year droppers are more as compare to previous year. CAT 2019 was conducted by IIM Kozhikode on November 24, 2019 and result was announced on January 4. CAT 2020 will be conducted by IIM Indore on November 29 across 156 cities in India. CAT 2020 registration will begin in August 5 and end by 16 September. CAT 2020 result will be announced in the second week of January 2021. Following the announcement of result, IIMs will begin shortlisting of candidates for admission.
CAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates having a graduation degree with an aggregate of 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA (45 percent for reserved category) can apply for CAT 2020.
Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50 percent marks or equivalent (45 percent for reserved category).
Candidates in their final year of graduation degree are also eligible to apply for CAT exam.
The percentage of marks obtained by a candidate will be calculated based on the formula practiced by the institute or university. In case, there is no scheme of converting CGPA into equivalent marks, at the said institute or university, the same would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.
Though many depends on coaching classes for better result in CAT. Coaching centres are shut down due to corona pandemic. Therefore it will a big challenge to score well. According to experts CAT20 will be a bigger challenge as compare to CAT19 for aspirants.
